Hi all,
Hope someone can help me? Short version of my problem....Split from husband few years ago, I have been paying the mortgage since, I did notify the company of this as I did miss a payment. They put the arrears to be paid at the end of the term, which is fine. Now this is my problem, I had an endowment when we set up the mortgage, which lapsed, and we took out another one. I don't know what happened to that,and I recall me writting to mortgage company to change it to a repayment one, but I have looked at all paperwork here to find anything on the endowments and a copy of letter to change, can't find anything. The statements I have had still say endowment on them, my mortgage ends next year and it still says i owe them £20,000
(original borrow £17,500) I have put off going to see them, even though my friends have told me to go.. I have been afraid incase they say there's nothing they can do, and will they deal wth me as husband name is first on the paperwork? I dont speak to him and it needs a few repairs before it could be sold, if they say that, it needs new electrics and new heating, besides cosmetic work. please anyone, any advice??? I will have to go see abbey but still really worried. many thanks.
