    Contact trading standards...

I had an unexplained problem years ago with a car...similar symptoms...the dealer accused the petrol station of supplying duff fuel..

To cut a long story short, Trading Standards could NOT confirm that there were any been complaints against the garage for duff fuel, due to the data protection act...

HOWEVER, they COULD confirm that the petrol station was NOT being investigated for fuel quality.

So, it really depends how you pose the question!

My husband was having a similar problem last year with supermarket fuel (Tesco Springhill was one of them). His diesel car would shudder and if the revs were low it would stall so rush hour traffic was scary. He switched to branded fuel and hasn't had a problem since. I too have switched and although I'm no car buff, I swear the car is more responsive and less sluggish.

People put petrol in diesel and vice versa swearing blind that they didn't make a mistake

Very hard to put diesel in a petrol accidently as diesel pump nozzles are wider than petrols ones and so don't fit.

Yes you would think so - but where there is a will there is a way! I have watched video footage of some one doing it then swearing bllind that he wouldn't do anything so daft! He tore a strip off staff and threw a wobbly until eventually presented with an automated picture of himself at till paying for diesel!
