Hi All,
I have some veg soup in the SC. I also have some nearly dodgy greek yogurt in the fridge, I am not going to be able to eat it all before it goes off. Does anybody know if I can put it in the soup to thicken it???
Will it give me food poisoning if I then freeze the soup and thaw and eat later.
Thanks,
Al.

You can put yoghurt in soup and it will improve/change the flavour to some extent. So adding yoghurt to soup by stirring it in at the end of cooking is quite normal.
I can see no reason why you cannot then freeze this soup as soon as it is cold. If you reheat it fully it should be perfectly OK to eat. The yoghurt may separate slightly on reheating which may affect the look of it but it shouldn't affect the flavour. Probably giving it a whizz in the blender may reconstitute it but you won't know if it's going to separate until you reheat it. But I wouldn't worry anyway. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

REALLY DELICIOUS RECIPE TO USE UP YOGHOURT
Yog curry
Fry an onion, some cumin seeds, and some tumeric until the onion is soft. You can use some chilli powder to taste, but other spices aren't essential - the onion, cumin and turmeric are.
Throw in about half to three quarters of a cup of dessicated coconut and fry until cooked. (Doesn't it smell WONDERFUL!!!) The coconut should not go brown.
Throw in the yog, stir and heat through. Be careful it doesn't boil or the yog will separate (but to be honest it will still taste good. Just not AS good).
Eat as a side dish with rice - or you can even eat as a main dish.
(Mod - feel free to move to the recipe thread if you like - I just remembered this as a good way to use a lot of yog quickly!)Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
