Joiner/Good Handyman Preston Area
Does anyone know of someone in the Preston area who would be able to raise the level of my joists (to accommodate proper level of insulation) and, once insulated, board my (very small) loft?
Thus far I have:
a) had one quote which was roughly equivalent to the cost of a small car.
b) reorganised my working day to get home early for someone who didn't turn up and didn't call.
c) reorganised my working day to go in late for someone who cancelled at the last minute (but at least he called!).
(Pause for a rant here - why do tradespeople and delivery firms think we are in a 1950s world (which never existed outside films) with a 'housewife' in every home with chuff all to do except wait around for them to turn up, apart from iron doilies?)
I appreciate it isn't the best job in the world but I thought, with the building industry not doing so well, I might actually find someone who would want the work? All I want is someone who turns up when they say they will, does a decent job - and I'm more than happy to pay a fair price for it.
