Ginger beer recipe?

I remember my Mum doing this and it was wonderful. I have found that using Belvoir ginger cordial (Waitrose do it - pricy but a must for ginger lovers) and fizzy water gives a lovely drink that is similar to ginger beer.

I'll second dannahaz's recipe, we made it using a plant to a similar recipe when I was a kid and it always gave good results.

I would not use glass bottles though as I think it's a bit risky, we always used PET bottles (the standard type of plastic pop bottles).
