Party on The Mall
East Midlands Today has 10 pairs of tickets to the Party on The Mall in London on 24th August.
The party is being held to celebrate the handing over of the Olympic Games to London.
If you want to be in with a chance of winning the tickets you need to answer this question. How many gold medals did the GB team win at the Athens Olympics in 2004? I googled this and got 9 - if anyone can confirm??
You can enter by text or email. By text to 07786 209030.
You must start your text with the word - gold - followed by the number. The BBC will not charge you to enter but your service provider charges may apply.
Do not enter after the deadline as your entry won't count and you may be charged.
Competition rules
1. The BBC Code of Conduct for competitions can be found at: 2. The competition is open to all residents of the UK, including the Channel Islands, except BBC employees and anyone connected with the competition.
3. A question will be read out on air during BBC East Midlands TV programming between the 4th and 6th August.
4. Entry to the competition is by sending the answer to the question by text to number 07786 209030 you need to start your answer with the word gold followed by the number or email emt@bbc.co.uk The BBC will not charge you to enter but your service provider charges may apply. The competition will open at noon on the 4th August and the closing date and time is midnight on the 6th August 2008. No entries received after that date will be considered and if they are text entries they may be charged.
5. All email entrants must supply a daytime contact phone number. The BBC will only ever use personal details for the purposes of administering this competition, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without permission. You can read more about the BBC Privacy Policy at: 6. Any winners under 16 can attend the event but they need to be accompanied by an adult aged over 16 with a valid ticket.
7. The winning entrants will be the first 10 correct entries drawn at random after the closing time.
8. In the event of any technical problems affecting the BBC computing and telephone systems being used to enter the competition the BBC reserves the right to draw the winners from those correct entries received before the technical failure. Any failures of systems that affect the competition will be made public on programme output.
9. If the winner is unable to be contacted the BBC reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner up.
10. Each prize consists of a pair of tickets to the Party on the Mall in London on the afternoon of 24th August. Winners will have to pay all the costs associated with attending the event including travel and accommodation.
11. The prize is as stated. There is no cash alternative and it is not transferable. It cannot be offered for sale.
12. The BBC's decision as to the winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into. The BBC will notify the winners by telephone within 24 hours of the close of the competition.
13. Personal information of the winners, limited to name, address and mobile/daytime telephone number, will be passed to the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) for the purposes of administration.
14. The East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) will send out tickets to the winners. Neither the BBC or EMDA shall be responsible for lost, stolen or missing tickets.
15. No duplicate tickets will be issued.
16. Only one entry is allowed per entrant regardless of method of entry.
17. The BBC reserves the right to cancel or alter or amend the competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
Prize winners agree to allow the use of their names for publicity purposes if requested by the BBC.
