Aloe Vera plants

Hi all

Been searching the forum for a bit. I'm trying to tidy up, a little bit of decluttering, a little bit of flylady, a little bit of escaping what I'm supposed to be doing, and I'm currently snipping dead leaves off my aloe vera plants.

I know its good for the skin. What do I do tho? Do I literally just pull a live leaf off? How do people actually *use* their plants???

Thanks!

If I burn myself on the oven - quite often  - then after running it under cold water - i just snap a fat leaf off and rub the inside jelly bit over the burn - it usually stops it blistering and makes it heal much quicker.

Which reminds me - I've got an insect bite to rub some onto ..

Hi! I do the same as newlywed, just snap a bit off and rub it on burns. Don't know how you would use it for all over though, perhaps someone on the health and beauty thread might be able to help if nobody here knows - yeah like nobody will know, I'm always amazed by how much collective knowledge there is here! And often more than grateful for it all!

I didn't know it worked on bites though, will have to rub some on the bites I got whilst I was out walking the dog the other day, midgy things with what must've been big teeth!

Just googled and they say you can add it into moisturiser, add it into aftersun to help the cooling/healing process.

Says you can drink the juice too - but it tastes rank and they recommend you mix it with fruit juice.

The gel, when squeezed from a freshly picked leaf, can be used to aid in the healing of burns, scars, and skin rashes.
