I recently recieved some vouchers from nectar, one of which was a "free " "Dullard & Aggrovation" eye test and 2000 points bonus points if I bought glasses. Well let me tell you all that there is no such thing as a free eye test.
I booked it over the fone as a "free eye test", I booked in at the store as a free eye test showing them the voucher, I showed the pre-screening girl the voucher, I mentioned it to the optician and to the guy who did the periferal vision check and it was only when I was about to leave when they weren't giving me my presciption that they demended 27.50.
I complained to nectar and was told "Whilst we appreciate the disappointment that this has caused, the coupon does state that the free eye test and 2,000 bonus points are only available when purchasing glasses"
The characters on the back are less than 2mm high, the girl who demanded the money had to squint and move to a better lit position to read it!
The moral.?
no such thing as a free anything..........that lesson cost me 27.50!

your voucher would have been clear... free eyetest and 2000 nectar points WHEN purchasing glasses... as you chose not to purchase you had to pay.
always read your coupons properly!
i had one of these via d&a and nectar and got my free eye test and points within 24 hours but mine wasnt conditional on a purchase...0 -
Free eye test vouchers are ten a penny, you have not done your homework.
This is cruel-but-maybe the reason you couldn't read the writing....0 -
Actually, Martin had a link to a part of the D&A website for vouchers for a free eye test and 25% off glasses in 2007. I know, because I was one of the people who used them. (Okay, I ordered the glasses at the same place, not MS, but at least I know I got a good quality pair of glasses while I scoped out cheaper suppliers who I could trust.)0

you get free eye tests in Scotland"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."

My sister came with me when I went to Specsavers to buy new glasses, they wanted me to pay for eye test.
I said to the bloke that I will pop to Tesco (5 mins away), get a fee eye test there and come back with my prescription.
He obviously didnt want me doing that cos I could then buy my glasses from Mr T so he said "dont worry about it, I will do your eye test for free".
My sister, the cheeky mare, said "Oh, in that case I'll have one done too!"
Result!
P.S. If you have a close relative who suffers with Glaucoma you can get your eye test free.I'm a Nanny again! 23rd April 2012

And don't forget that if you use a computer at work for more than an hour a day, then your work will pay for your yearly eye test!
Taken from http://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/faqs/vdubreaks.htm#4 :You are entitled to ask your employer to provide an eye test if you are an employee who habitually uses DSE as a significant part of your normal work. This is a full eye and eyesight test by an optometrist (or a doctor). Your employer should arrange for your test and should tell you how to apply. Your employer will only have to pay for spectacles if the test shows you need special spectacles (e.g. ones prescribed for the distance the screen is viewed at). If your ordinary prescription is suitable for your DSE work the employer does not have to pay for your spectacles.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
