Been thinking about doing this for a while in my spare time but just wanted to hear some thoughts from people.

I basically have an idea to start doing Goody bags such as hen night packs, stag night packs and part bags etc for occassions. I have done this for a few friends and they were all really pleased with what I had done. Most were friends who just didnt have time to plan out gifts etc for childrens parties and I love a bit of creativity!

What do you reckon the feasibility is of doing this locally? I can advertise on works message board - I work at a University with over 1000 employees so would be a big market.

any ideas welcome - I have no business brain although

sounds like a really original idea litteluc.

You need to think what sort of charge you would be looking at, and make sure you obviously covered your expenses.

Have you thought of any other ways which you would advertise?- Maybe in the local paper or anything like that?

Sounds like a quite fun idea, if you can make money from it but keep it within people's affordability.

ps- what kind of bags do you use? just wondered if you had thought about this- as if I was paying for something like this, I would like that bags to be quite nice and pretty as well as obviously the contents.

I actually just used brown paper bags last time which I decorated with pictures - hand made effect! It was for a hen night and they went down a treat. I'm not looking to make a fortune from it but think maybe making £100 a month would be great. Would make them affordable and fun - obviously vary them to fit the needs of the customer. I am going to have a look into getting a bulk batch of bags done...........thinking this could be a really good fun business or hobby!

I think that sounds like a great little earner.
I have been a bridesmaid loads of times and it's always a bit of a last minute scamble trying to organise badges etc for the henny.
You could also list some ideas for games and things to do on your night out eg I sewed on lost of fruit polos on a plain white t-shirt and made the hen wear it out. Guys had to then eat the polos off the t-shirt, much to the blushing brides horror! He he

I am going to start from next month - obviouslt localy so they can be delivered or picked up from me. Will have a list of say 5 items to pick for each bag from a list of 10 or so and see how its goes.

Think it would suit those bridesmaids, bestmen and mums and dads who dont have the time to put together everything......this is the kind of thing I enjoy!

Will keep you posted......excited about it all actually!

Sounds a good idea

I wonder if it might be a idea to contact the limo type companies that offer this, obviously they have to take some commission from any sales but it may be another way to expand

Yeah, good idea. You could also create a 'menu' type thing for people to select from, then you can buy everything in bulk and reduce your costs.

Once you expand you could also get some links with go karting places, paintballing etc and try to get referrals this way.

Thanks for all the support guys - really appreciate it! Think a menu type idea is great - lets people pick and choose what they want to add to bags which is great. Limo idea would be great if this takes off.....god you've really raised my spirits thanks so much!

I don't think party bags for children is the way to go, there are far too many people doing the same thing for your prices to be competative.
