Questions re OR from first-timer

Hi all,
I was declared bankrupt (I petitioned for it) at the start of July and have a few questions if I may?
I'm a self-employed sole trader, so all's fine there. The judge at court was an absolute sweetie and really very sympathetic when my case was brought up, as the whole thing was really down to a divorce many years ago. The OR interview was by phone the very next day and took an hour.
Nothing much happened after that, but I did get a letter asking for two years' trading accounts which sent me into a tailspin of worry until I surmised that they do that.
I'm actually finding it hard to relax whilst being probed in the background like this. So my questions include:
1. What does the OR actually do during "his investigations"? Do they ask for info in a trickle every now and again by letter, or all at once? I haven't, for instance, been asked for any bank statements at all.
2. If they're going to go for ED, I take it they write and tell you?
3. What about BROs? I've co-operated fully and responded instantly each time, but still worry about this (even though my case is very straightforward with nothing hidden at all). Would I already know if there were problems there or what?
4. I did have a pleasant surprise this morning when the water board said my past account had been wiped by the OR and a new account set up. What other utilities do they tell?
In summary, I just get the habdabs each time I think of the OR writing for some reason so want to find out the normal pattern from other survivors. When, generally, do they leave you alone if you're an easy case?
In my area, we have about 120 new bankrupts each week so I guess the OR must be very, very busy and eager to get onto the next person. Which is good, isn't it??
Many thanks!

Hi all,
I was declared bankrupt (I petitioned for it) at the start of July and have a few questions if I may?

I'm actually finding it hard to relax whilst being probed in the background like this. So my questions include:
1. What does the OR actually do during "his investigations"? Do they ask for info in a trickle every now and again by letter, or all at once? I haven't, for instance, been asked for any bank statements at all. Usually the OR will ask for all relevent information prior to your interview.....bank statements etc the OR will be able to get without asking you....once the initial interview is over usually it will go pretty quiet with the OR unless they need to any further information about your case...
2. If they're going to go for ED, I take it they write and tell you? It can be mentioned in your interview they dont usually write...."IF" your considered for ED you'll receive paperwork from the OR that would need to be filled in and returned....
3. What about BROs? I've co-operated fully and responded instantly each time, but still worry about this (even though my case is very straightforward with nothing hidden at all). Would I already know if there were problems there or what? If you've co-operated and your case is simple and straightforward should be no reason why you receive a BRO/BRU unless you had a history of gamling? taking cash knowing you had no means to pay back etc
4. I did have a pleasant surprise this morning when the water board said my past account had been wiped by the OR and a new account set up. What other utilities do they tell? All the utility companies gas/elec/water
In summary, I just get the habdabs each time I think of the OR writing for some reason so want to find out the normal pattern from other survivors. When, generally, do they leave you alone if you're an easy case? Yep usually...feet up & enjoy being debt free now
In my area, we have about 120 new bankrupts each week so I guess the OR must be very, very busy and eager to get onto the next person. Which is good, isn't it?? Or's have such huge caseloads to start with so Early discharge can be a bonus...although NEVER a guarantee
Many thanks!

Just to add that I too was self employed in the last 2 years, and sent in just one profit and loss account, but was asked about the previous year by telephone, so 2 years is normal.
It all sounds as if it is going fine, nothing to worry about.Bankrupt 11th June 2008

Thanks for your answers. That's very reassuring.
