so its really not worth anything to me sitting where it has been for the last 6 years.
Its going up every year and will provide you an income.it's all a bit rubbish isn't it.... the money is not going to be of any MAJOR benefit when I retire.
You mean the employer contributions, the tax relief and tax free growth (if money puchase) are rubbish? No they are not.
The basic state pension is £4700 a year. Unless you fancy living on that, then it makes sense to have personal provision and the Govt gives employers and employees tax benefits for offering pensions. From 2012 it will be compulsary for employers to pay into a pension and employees will be auto-enrolled into it with a 4% contribution. So, it is worth it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
