Ohhh, don't get me started on the tumble dryer! What you save with the micro and a slow cooker will more than pay your electricity bill for the tumble!!

I know you said the food is really stuck on that old cooker, but before we moved into our house (we were in rented, waiting for house to be finished) I had to de-gunge the cooker. I bought some OVEN PRIDE from Tesco (£3.95) and it was excellent. No smells and very easy and extremely efficient to use. Might be worth a try before you start spending on more white goods!

I've tried every oven cleaner there is. If I posted a picture of my oven on here you will wonder how the hell I've cooked on it for 3 years!! The burnt on food is about 2 inches thick inside and really really welded to it and that was what it was like when I got it. I moved from a fully furnished house to here and the man that was living here before me had bought a new oven. It was agreed he would leave this one here just to tide me over until I got another one.

I finally had a new oven installed today. Had to take all the cupboards down from the kitchen and then put half as many back up. The cupboards cost me £100, oven was £300 and a Corgi gas fitter for the oven was £85. But after 3 years of cooking on the pre historic oven it really is great to be cooking on this lovely new one tonight  :T
