Todays Mirror Breakdown of electric cost

Anyone else seen today's Mirror. It has a breakdown on what it costs to run everyday items like clocks, hairdryers etc. Not had a chance to see it myself as my mother won't let go of the paper !!!!!!!!!!

I think it's right - but think that is p not £ - so 2½p and now just over 4p for eastenders (not sure it's worth 4p to be honest though :p)

    playstation just over 5p in 2005 - now 8½p

Coz if you look at 10 - bath - I'm on prepay and know for a fact it isn't £18 to fill a bath :rotfl: - it's about that for a whole month's worth of hot water ;) - so it must be p not £

Thanks for this Welshgranny & Newlywed, although not sure Gordon Brown or indeed many OS'ers would agree with the Mirror's tip to cut spending in the kitchen.....

Tip - Throw away out of date or rotten food otherwise your wasting energy and money keeping it cold.

Don't know about anyone else, but we don't get rotten food in our fridge, and we always use up out of date things (some are whoopsies for goodness sake lol!) DH just pointed out if you through it all away you have empty space in the fridge which costs money to chill anyway!

We were lucky and price capped ours and got one of those energy monitors, it makes you look at what you're using a little more. I've stopped using the hoover... switched to a
ewbank and dustpan and brush, not hoovered now for just over a month but the floors are spick and span and I have to work a bit harder doing the job so burn more energy, better for me and my purse :j
