I'll check supermarkets out on internet and if something worth having will go an get it on my way home on a Wed as only day I'm able to do a slight 'detour'. These places are 'close' but they're never that close.

I don't like going out of my way though as time and petrol too valuable.

I always use a weekly list so anything like this is extra and has to be put into the following week's food.

I think if you do as the original lady in the post does it is more likely to be processed food that's on special. I like food so chicken and mushroom pies several nights of the month so not nice and not healthy.

I imagine she concentrates on her BOGOFs and offers or reduced meat and veg (which I never see much of and soem of what I would't like to risk). She probably then has to go home and plan her meals around them, then go out and buy the stuff to make them useful.

Seems to me you have to have a bit of time on your hands but if you do then good luck.

My cupboards are usually quite full most of the time.

When I need something like bread and milk I go to the shop which is most suitable depending on where I am.

While getting the essentials, I also browse/buy the offers to stock up on what I need or getting short of. Only the ones I would use though. As anything else would be a waste of money.
