It's because eBay has a stupid system where fees on auction sales dont include the postage amount. So you should prefer items with a high P&P and low item price because everyone is paying less money to eBay that way.
I always give sellers a 5 for P&P costs to defeat Ebay's extra money extraction scheme of dropping sellers with low DSRs for P&P down the search results.0 -
But if you have a problem and have paid half your price via postage, you lose more money, if you only get your item value refunded. The system may not be perfect, but as postage is clearly displayed, so do sellers clearly know how much their listing will cost.
Anyhoo, my wii fit from Germany arrived yesterday, bloody masrvellous.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
I've been watching this thread with interest, because my mum wanted a Wii Fit for my niece. Tried all the big suppliers for her, but no joy. Then she managed to get one by simply ringing one of her local shops, who as it happened were getting a delivery the next morning and reserved one for her.
The one she got it from was Grainger Games, who are a smallish chain just in the North East I think. So try the little guys.0 -

Both Paypal and the distance selling act requires postage costs to be refunded in the event of a return so that's utter rubbish.
Yes sellers know it costs a lot more in ebay fees if they lower the postage costs and raise the item price. Which is the whole point of very high P&P costs. It minimises what everyone pays to eBay.0 -
