Oh, and I agree with everyone else - these people are only after a big cut of your money  , go to CCCS or Payplan instead - they do exactly the same thing for free!Never underestimate the power of the techno-geek...0 -
Even better, go to Martin's PPI reclaim advice and do it for yourself. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance Cost probably about a tenner. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

We're also looking to do a debt management plan. We've contacted our trusted financial advisor to ask him for some advice.
He absolutely hates these companies who do the Debt Management / IVA / Bankrupcy 'solutions', however he had spoken to a few of his contacts and 'Promise Solutions' kept coming up.
So he's actually recommended these guys to us. However, he made it quite clear that we didn't have to go with this company, and if anything we could just get some hints and tips as to how to go about cutting back and getting in touch with creditors. He also suggested the CCCS as well.
We're just desperate to talk to someone about our situation. I can completely understand where you're coming from when you say a 'weight has been lifted'...0 -
Hi Moomin,
You might get more responses starting your own thread as this was a very old one (2008!!). However briefly Promise Solutions and the cccs do basically the same thing except Promise Solutions is a business and therefore will charge you a fee for their services while cccs is a charity and is totally free. Not saying that Promise Solutions is necessarily a bad company but if you are looking to go on something like a dmp then if you go with a free service it means that all the money you pay is going directly to the debts and therefore will pay them off quicker. Why not try giving the cccs a ring and get some advice from them, doesn't mean you have to go with them but they will offer help and support which it sounds like you need at the moment. Good luck with it x0
