Thanks, I don't know what games consoles HB sells - I've never been in any of their shops - yet!
We're 'patiently?!' waiting for ours to open - its meant to open January, but I can't see that happening - work hasn't even started yet!0 -

Home Bargains is good but not that good I'm afraid. They specialise in products that the major stores/catalogue can't shift within their acceptable profit margin (I'm making an assumption here) - so it's end of line/near sell by date stuff a lot of the time. You don't tend to get anything in the way of top end electronics. But I'm fairly confident that you'll be in there lots when it finally opens."Whatever happened to string?"0 -

There are some gorgeous hard boxes (three designs in my local store, two different black & white floral, one in autumn colours) in 3 sizes - they would make brilliant "hampers" when filled with other bargains & maybe some shredded tissue paper or similar. They are really well-made & sturdy, have a velcro closure & a bow on the front.
They come in 3 sizes, the smallest (12" x 10" x 6") was £1.99, the middle one is £2.99 & the big one (which is pretty large!) is £3.99 - a real bargain!
Here is a pic of one of the designs, the pic really doesn't do them justice:
Has anyone seen these in Hartlepool, Stockton or Thornaby?0 -
ohhhhhh love love love homebargins gonna get up earlier in morning and get myself down to my local one, i havent got my daughter tommorow shes at mums so can spend time looking as opposed to jst dashing around and not really "seeing" anything.

The good thing is, because it can't be shifted at full price elsewhere they can sell it for silly prices in HB. I do find as well for branded things like biscuits, tinned tuna, toothpaste, hair dye etc it is way cheaper than anywhere else! I guess they work on a high turnover, low profit margin basis, I think it's great

I have found you still need to shop carefully even in Home Bargains and don't automatically assume that everything in there IS a bargain! Last week, for instance, they were selling 4 x John West Tuna for £2.49 - the Co-op had them on special offer for £2. I have also seen Fairy Active Bursts cheaper in Sainsbury's when on special. On the whole though, yes you can usually buy cheaper there and I still enjoy my weekly trip there!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

John West Tuna at Home Bargains is cheaper to buy individually which is 59p each rather than the pack of 4 for £2.492025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0
