Go to control panel > regional and language options (or similar, depending on which version of Windows you're using), and make sure everything is set to "English (UK)" - especially "text services and input languages"

Thanks - I'll have a look. Everything else is normal. I might give Apple a call and see what they suggest....... Though I have spent the last year typing GBP instead of getting off my bum to sort this, lol!!!0 -

Ah, didn't realise you were a Mac.welshchocolatelover wrote: »Thanks - I'll have a look. Everything else is normal. I might give Apple a call and see what they suggest....... Though I have spent the last year typing GBP instead of getting off my bum to sort this, lol!!!
Same principle should apply - ie you have a UK keyboard, but the OS thinks you're using a US keyboard.
Should be fairly straightforward to remedy - if you post in the tech forum, I'm sure there'll be Mac people who'll be able to advise you how to change your settings so you can get your £ sign back. Sorry, don't mean to show off just because I've got a £ sign. ££££££££££:p

Shift and 3 gives me £
Alt and 3 gives me #
On that basis try using alt instead of shift and see what happens0 -
