what do you mean when you say "be on one of the other two credit checks"?
You will be pleased to know that both the wife and I have decided to stick with what we are doing for the time being! living with in-laws and trying to pay off debt.0 -

You have come so far, I would stick it at the out laws for another 6 months.
But what I would do is take a holiday! It does sound like a break from the living situation may be a help to your wife and help everybody have some breathing space.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0 -
Hi mummytofour I could really do with a holiday as I think most people on here could!
chevalier thanks for your post but I wouldn't have a clue where to start? It was disgusting the way she had been treated during 2007 and beginning of this year. She made so many trips to the doctors to try and get them to book an appointment with her specialist. She also phoned the specialist and hospital direct but was always told that the specialist doctor will arrange an appointment and get back to her. She heard nothing for months and months. It ended up with her GP (who was next to useless) writing a sh!tty letter to the specialist, which took about 3 months to be replied to. The letter basically said that the specialist has no control over appointments and the hospital is more interested in looking after new patients than follow up patients.
By this time she was getting worse and worse plus having to deal with debt problems and the fact of having to lose the house. Well in the end she ended up in hospital and diagnosed with a whole host of problems which mainly stem from the tablets she's on (obviously not admitted by the doctors, but it all started when she started taking the medication!)
If her specialist had made regular appointments to check up on her (like promised) maybe we wouldn't be in this situation!!0 -

Not sure about the legal stuff but I would suggest that you think about the holiday.
Do you have relatives who are going away who you could house swap? Alternatively, could you borrow a tent, a caravan or go youth hostelling?
If you ferret round www.megatrain.com, you may find some really cheap travel deals.
I know it sounds a bit cheap but just being able to walk round without being around the folks and relax would be good for both of you.
Then put together a timetable so she knows there is an end in sight and it may be a lot easier to live with the present situation. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Don't know about the legal stuff either but hope you and the wife will be ok.
It appears that you would need to get a solicitor to start proceedings against the NHS as their own complaints procedure does not gove financial compensation. Also not sure if this would come under a personal injury claim.

All i do know is that you require proof that the standard of care was poor and that harm resulted from this. If you wrote letters and have kept copies that may be considered proof, but not sure if you need to show that they were received (recorded delivery).
That seems to be a secondary consideration right now though. Hopefully your wife and finances will be getting healthier soon. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Just to say there are 3 companies that do the credit reports- experian, equifax and callcredit. Every company that you have loans /credit cards with will report to 1 (possibly more?) of these so they may each hold slightly different information on you.Making my money go further with MSE :j

hi dancingfairy I was just considering paying £14 to https://www.checkmyfile.com so I can see reports from all 3 companies, is it worth it?
the free 30 days credit report was helpful from Experian but not all creditors are shown there and I would like to see them all.0
