They vary enormously. Some draw it straight away and others clearly state they won't draw it for a couple of weeks.
In addition, some companies don't let you know you've won but just send the prize. I won a prize from Baby Expert last week and it just turned up out of the blue two weeks after the end of the comp.

I agree with above - thanks to lauraland I had a pair of remington curling tongs turn up last friday - I'd never won from a fabulous mag competition so was thrilled. Checking the date on the original comp it ended on the 24/05 so took over two months to receive them! Lovely surprise though as didn't get a WEM.
