go for a petrol strimmer, forget any electric ones if you have a reasonable sized garden. the electric ones just tend to comb the grass instead of cut it. i got a mccullouch (?) strimmer from homebase as it was wrongly priced about 4 years ago, she has never let me down, i had gone through 3 electric strimmers in this time.what is the plural of moose?

If the OP is near a Black & Decker 'factory shop' or 'outlet' they regularly have reconditioned Strimmers starting at a tenner - so it's almost not worth changing the string when it runs out......There are 10 types of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't
In many cases it helps if you say where you are - someone with local knowledge might be able to give local specifics rather than general advice0
