I would go through the finance, I just got accepted for a new car and honestly i didnt think i would as i had a few missed payments on my old car 1 year ago, but they came back next day and approved it. You should tell her to get the finance. xx

Another tip - don't necessarily assume that threatening to shop around will win you any favours either. This month (August) is a very busy month for motor sales and many dealers don't need to offer preferential terms to get your business just now.

Which planet are you on then? - Oh it's planet zogg?

I may be from Planet Zogg, but I currently live in the real world. :p

Established fact - motor dealers are target driven on F&L deals. If they are busy and hitting targets already they don't need to reduce their margins! The time around 'new registrations' is always the busiest for them.

Thanks to all for the replies.

Just thought I'd give you a bit of feedback, my lovely mum is walking around with a huge smile on her face, she decided to try again and applied for a loan with a certain high street store thinking that she may as well give it another shot.

Well this morning she recieved a call to say yes she'd been accepted at the rate advertised for the full amount she wanted and to top it all off the moment she came off the phone from them the car dealer called and offered £600 off if she put down a deposit today even threw in mats!:j

    So thanks to all
