I am sure others will soon be along to tell you how cheap you can get it done and that there are cheap 'on line' conveyancers. All I say is think very carefully as often you get what you pay for and there are regular threads, on this board, where people admit to having used a cheap opton but the back up, from them, when there has been a problem has not always been that good.A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. Contact a few of your local conveyencing solicitors - that will give you a really accurate picture. I did mine via email and they were all very quick to respond.Boo!:rotfl:0

Selling only, 2 years ago, I had an online quote conveyancing-quote.com of the following:
House price £250-300k: £274 + VAT
Office copy entries: £6
Telegraphic transfer fee: £35.25
VAT: £47.95
TOTAL: £363.20
At the time, my local conveyancers quoted £600 for their fees, plus the other stuff0 -
Check all the small print and "terms and conditions". There are lots of scams out there whereby an apparently low "top line" fee is added to with lots of "extras" which are really part of the normal work - Telephone calls and postages, acting for the lender, completing the SDLT form, professional indemnity contribution, "arranging and interpreting the results of searches" (!), and expedition fees for completing in less than 21 days from exchange of contracts.RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
