Asda price match with newspaper offers

ok have just rung customer services and they say yes they will match offers from newspapers. So am about to go and see if I can buy the printer from pc world as advertised in the sun for 49.99!! Its currently 63.00 at Asda AND we have no pc world near us so will report back as soon as I know the outcome. Fingers crossed. :-X
I wished upon a star tonight that I would see you once more,
To hold you in my arms and tell you how much I love you,
To hear your voice, to kiss your cheek oh for just one more time,
But all I have are memories and a heart full of love and tears.

ASDA have sneaky ways of getting out of deals, few days ago tried to get them to price match gamestation offer on PS2 but because the gamestation deal did not match the EXACT 2 games ASDA offered with their bundle would not match

    Hardly call it "sneaky".

Like going into ASDA and asking for oranges that they do not happen to sell and complaining that they won't sell you apples as a price match.

I think the word you have overlooked is MATCH.

price MATCH when the GOODS MATCH !!!

    No MATCH no deal.

I've never had a problem providing it is THE SAME !

  • Any problems arise because the shopworkers try to second guess head office's policy.

Head office says "match ads". A lot of ASDA "colleagues" cannot get their heads around this; if you go in with a significant reduction, a lot will try to avoid making the reduction. I have found that the customer services desk is usually both fair and clued up.

  • Also noticed that a lot of stores only match with other stores within a certain radius :(

Well that's a change in policy. Are you sure you mean ASDA? There was a time when the ad-match (AdMatch? Ad Match?) was for any advert across the land. I remember some Safeways folk making the papers by descending on an ASDA store armed with a pocketful of obscure newspapers and demanding ad-matches. My, how they must have laughed.
