in Cutting tax
I'm a student working 30 hours a month at a creche. Is it better to keep my hours low so that I don't go over the tax limit?

My opinion.
No.
You still won't pay tax on what you are currently earning without paying tax.
If you do reach an income level to start paying tax, income tax will be at no more than 20% on the part above your personal allowance. So you get to keep most of it.
Do you already pay NI contributions? If you don't, that could also reduce the percentage actually in your hands but does give you a contribution history towards being able to claim benefits if they are needed in future years.0
