Expense claim while working thru umbrella company

Hi
I have started contracting and have registered to an umbrella company. I would like to know more about claiming expense for accomodation rental. As per the umbrella company I can claim my accomodation rentals if the agreement is on my name. But My rental agreement is on my husbands name. Can I claim based on that agreement as it is on my husbands name and his job is permanent thus we are not claiming it anywhere else.
OR
I can claim if I live at friends and family near my workplace other than my registered house.
Please suggest how can I claim this accomodation rental.
Can I claim for my groceries recipts? I am planning to buy a second hand laptop. Can I claim that without recipts as its second hand and not bought from a shop as such. What all can I claim without producing reciepts.
