Cancelling Sky and re-joining at same address?

Options
Hi there,
Is it possible to cancel your Sky subscription (I have been with Sky for more than one year) and rejoin using a different name at the same address? I'd have to use the same bank details as before - is this possible?

you wouldn't get the offers for nw customers (3 mo/ half price) and you'll probably get charged a connection fee..... can't really see how you'd benefit in any way...
  • As far as I can remember, I think you have to wait 3 months before reapplying or (as Amba says) you'll get charged a connection fee.

Why would you want to do that?
If you contact their customer care department, they should be able to give you a 3 months at 1/2 price deal.

Currently they are offering sky+ with multi-room for £45 for existing customers - it's a great deal.

Could cancel your current account, and set up a new one using the name of the house? (eg. No 54 or Fieldview House)

ring up customer service and say you are thinking of cancelling the sky service unless you can offer me a good deal. i am unhappy about what incentives you are giving to new customers etc etc.

you will probably find that they are keen to keep your custom. worth a try
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

You'll also have to make sure that the person ringing up to cancel is the named subscriber. They won't cancel it otherwise.

As for being able to take over the subscription at same address, I got my ex to ring up to cancel sky at my house so that I'd be able to ring up and set up my own account. They were a bit funny about it, saying that I wouldn't be able to use that equipment! Ended up taking offer of 3 months half price in his name and then I'll get him to ring up again to cancel. (Not had tv connected to sky for last 2 weeks due to decorating and haven't missed it)
