Booked holiday

A have booked and paid for a holiday abroad at the end of September with my partner. I am not yet bankrupt but have a CCCS appointment on 13 August.
If they suggest backrupcy, which I think they will, will the OR tell me to cancel the holiday?
I appreciate any advice on this matter.
Thank you

Hi Deadingit.
Is it a pricey hol..two weeks in the Maldives or a week in Ibiza? did you pay for it with your CC ?
If they suggest BR at the CCCS then by the time you get the court booked, forms filled in and the OR interview, you will probably have had the holiday anyway.
The OR won't be chuffed if you've taken a holiday knowing your going BR/so close to BR especially if you've used credit to pay for it, but i doubt theres anything they can do apart from grunt a littleunless anyone knows better???
The OR often allows a little money for holidays so as long as its a reasonable break then you 'might' be ok.The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
I thin kit possabily also depends on how long ago you booked the holiday and how your finacial situation was at the time?Bankruptcy Supporters Club No.1790

Hi there, I went Br las t august and went away for 10 days in tuscany in september, it never actually came up with the OR other than the day we went BR and I told the OR office that we would be away so not to arrange the interview for those ten days.
We did our hol fairly cheaply, we didn't use a credit card, we paid for it bit by bit the 6 months prior to BR. We hadn't been on holiday since we met (5 years) and desperately needed to get away especially as we knew the BR was defo happening. Time to reflect etc!
Some people I am sure will say we shouldn't have gone bla bla bla but we needed it, we had an amazing time. Go for it and enjoy - just don't take the p*** and have have 2 months in Oz! :rotfl:0 -
I have known examiners to cancel expensive holidays if there is a sizeable deposit that can be returned. really depends on each individual circumstance.0

Like BLTN says, you will probably be back from holiday by the time you go BR so there will be no need to mention it. Did you pay for it on one of your CCs?

Take your holiday.
I`m sure that when you booked it, you were not contemplating that you would be going bankrupt were you ??
Enjoy it . Try not to use any cards while you are away though. Draw cash for your monthly living expenses and get travellers cheques.

When I had my first conversation with the OR office, immediately after going BR, the first thing I was asked was was I going on holiday so she could sort out telephone calls and timescales. There was no suggestion that I shouldn't go on holiday, just when I was going to be available.
As it was I had had a short holiday just before going BR, booked and paid for by my daughter, but that never came up in any interview with the OR.
So go ahead and take it, and have a relaxing time - BR can be stressful.Bankrupt 11th June 2008

Thanks for all your help.
The holiday was paid out of funds that I had saved, not on a credit card and no, I did notrealise I would be bancrupt when I booked and still may not be depending on how the meeting goes with the CCCS.
Naturallu I dont want to cancel if if I don't have to and my partner does not want to cancel it either.0 -
If you paid for it in cash then there's no paper trail to it.

It was not a cash payment. I paid with my debit card so it will show on my bank statement.0
