HSBC mortgage question

I'm sure there are quite a few people on here that have taken a remortgage out with the HSBC recently. They treat any additional borrowing over and above the outstanding mortgage as a seperate loan agreement (same terms etc)
The mortgage completed today but I haven't had the extra borrowing deposited into my account.
Is this the norm? I'm going into the branch tomorrow morning but wanted a few opinions first
Thanks
