Where to buy cheap fish?

Like JackieO ... can't get fresher than that which is "off the boat". If you can get to the coast (almost anywhere will do) you'll find more fresh fish, at the best price, than anywhere else.
I live about 20 minutes from Hastings. But the Sainsbury's (in Hastings) stocks not one scale of fish caught locally - oh no ... all transported all over the Country ...in fact, the World!!
Madness!
Get to the coast or your local food market. Birmingham has some of the best, freshest fish in the Country - honestlyWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

Ooooh yes, and if you add a bit of herring roe to the fish pie it eeks out the coley even further and if very, very tasty ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
