Flash unthinking developers going bust here

Ah, how lonely it felt when all around me thought me idiotic for portending the current landscape.
The chap above my printers is a flashy loud mouthed developer, who made his money by luck, not balls, just unthinking robotic impulses. He never gave a thought to the economic landscape, he took no notice of the early warning signs such as the US market 2 years ago. He swallowed Nulabs robotic ministerial lines about the housing shortage.
Last year he bought a block of 12 flats and now having renovated them cannot sell a single one because he claims, no one will lend on them (in reality I suspect he wants way ott prices).
The Bank is all over him and about to close in. The Range Rover looks good, the wife still spends inordinate amounts of time in nail bars, and the kids still want to fill thier cupboards with trainers..............
Do I pity this guy? Not a bit. There are thousands like him in Chigwell, Loughton, Epping - if you know what I mean. Alpha males they thought they were, taking the juciest cuts and leaving crumbs for the rest.
The real Alpha males went about things quietly, carefuly and without gaze or glare. Not for them the R Rover sport, oh no, the battered Volvo estate is just fine.

There is an amazing property for sale in Sudbury where the Rightmove listing currently states "This property is currently in the midst of conversion into two flats. However this does not have planning permission, and remedial work will be required to turn the property back into a single dwelling".
Mmmmm tempting!Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!0 -
