Old stamps, are they worth anything?!

Hiya! I don't know if this is the right place for this question, if it's not, sorry! and please move it
Basically my Nan has given me a carrier bag full of old stamps by old I mean most are from the 60's. Some of them are unused however most have been used and cut off the envelope. There are also quite a few whole envelopes in there with the big franking mark ( I think that's what it's called!) on them for places likie Duxford etc. Looking them up on ebay is hopeless as they all look so similar and I have hundreds! As far as I know, there are no specialised stamp shops anywhere near where I live.
Any ideas to find out if they're worth anything?

The whole envelopes for Duxford, could they be 'first day covers?' i.e. new stamps posted on the first day of issue?
