The Moral High Ground?

Earlier today I posted a thread encouraging others to ignore posters who adopted a holier than thou attitude in response to posts that gave useful advice reguarding legal methods of reducing debt (on the Debt Free Wannabe Board).

It has been deleted.

The MSE T&C clearly state that explanations will not be given if threads are deleted, but I have read the T&C and I am at a complete loss as to why this thread fell foul of the board rules.

If anyone can give me some insight as to what I did wrong I would be very grateful.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the original thread.

  • I wouldn't question it mate. Maybe someone else posted something offensive or whatever! If I'm being picky aswell maybe it had nothing to do with "debt free wanabee". Might have been better off in the "vent" board!

vBulletin has the option to move posts to more appropriate boards if neccessary, this has not been used in this instance, which implies that it was not where the post was made, but rather the content or subject of the post. Having read the T&C I'm still at a loss as to what condition was breached.

Several times on several threads this week we have reminded everyone that the Debt Free Wananabe board is not somewhere to vent or invite general discussion.

The topic that was started is not something that is beneficial to that board and encouraging others to ignore people who have a certain view is not acceptable. If you have a grievance with another members opinion, simply report it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com. We remind people not to take matters into their own hands; this helps no one and often simply causes friction. We are here to deal with these issues.
