Clean a beanbag ?

I have a filthy children's beanbag that I need to get cleaned. It is full of those little polysterene balls and its the thought of trying to get those out, without making a huge mess that puts me off getting the cover wash.
Any ideas, cos otherwise I may just bin it !!

We have an old beanbag that is inside a cover I made. Since we moved, we haven't really room for it and it's been claimed by the dog. On one of the hottest days of the year last week, I put it in the bath after DS got out and I'd swished some soda crystals round in the water. Hoiked it out into a trug and put it out on the garden bench in baking sun. Even turning it every half hour or so, it took a day and a half to dry but is now daisy fresh!0
