HI people,
Looking for a double divan, anyone recommend a good one ?? Budget is £200 - £300.
Also prefer a medium firm, as at the tender age of 25, after a car accident, I`ve got a bad back !
Any advice would be greatly appreciated !

An earlier post on here mentioned a site called mattress man and I got a half price Sumberland mattress with free delivery within 48 hours last week.
Very pleased with them."This site is addictive!"

I don't notice the difference between mattresses much but my wife (who has back problems) says that you should always buy the most expensive mattress you can afford as that is likely to be the best for the back. I would do a Google UK search for orthopaedic mattresses.Eh?? I give up!! Towel is getting thrown in here!0

The big manufacturers i.e sleepezee, etc all have outlets where they send their end of lines etc. Call them & save loads, i did!, btw the more springs in the mattress, the more support! No one said it was gonna be easy!0

IKEA look like they're trying hard in their bed department currently - long guarantees, leaflets explaining differences & a reasonable range.

If you can afford it, try one of the tempur mattresses. I beleive thqat theya re marvelous for most but, again, TRY FIRST as some folk really do NOT like them. I believe they are on offer just now on a monthly payment plan: keep eye on telly. I don't even know on which chanel but I was told about it by a reliable source.
Don't skimp on the mattress. Slumberland top of teh range are good but expensive, however, you won't regret the money spent. If necessary, sell something else to enable you to get the right one: maybe your husband, if you have one or the kids?????? LOL!
Oh, and this advice applies regardless of your age. Nevr too yooung to start taking care of your back. I took my good health and natural fitness for grante. Now in my late 50s and have been paying for it since my early/mid 40s. Can't climb trees any more :-(0 -
We have a waterlattex mattress which is fantastic. I am only 26 & have serious back problems aswell so i know where you are coming from. I've slept so much better since changing the mattress & my daily intake of painkillers has decreased considerably.
hope that helps.

Ikea Mattresses are 3 inches bigger than the norm.
Argos do cheap decent mattresses too. Maybe LX direct with discount codes?
And of course as already mentioned good ol' eBay."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
I've just been out this weekend to buy a new mattress, ended up with a whole new bed!!
Got a slumberland deal and the girlfriend got very embarassed when I started haggling, but when she realised I got them down from £1200 to £900 for the complete outfit AND free delivery, she was very happy...strange thing is she bought a new dress with the savings!!
Anyways...we bought a Foam & Sprung mattress, it's almost a foot deep with around half being foam and half being sprung. After laying on it for around 30mins in the shop, I got up and felt brand new again. It was more supportive than both the Foam only and spring only versions.
And you need to remember, you spend around 1/3 of your life in your bed and a mattress is expected to last 8-10 years, sometimes upto 15. So I worked out, even if I only keep it for 10 years (probably less to be honest) but on that figure it will only cost me around £90 a year to sleep in pure luxury and wake up feeling refreshed in the morning.
Benson Beds & Slumberland both have half price sales on just now, worthwhile checking them out!Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0
