Update, I had indeed entered a free prize draw on a website called "Myoffers"
however this is a timeshare scam and you will be expected to part with money for maintenance each year.... The £3750 apparently reflects the cost of purchasing a timeshare and is not a prize as such...

In view of the fact this company have recently been prosecuted and given that I'm in the area where the case was heard I have just reported my letter to "Consumer Direct" on 0 8 4 5 4 0 4 0 5 0 6, they have asked me to send a copy of the letter to the Office of Fair Trading's Scambuster team, address is:

    Office of Fair Trading
    Scambuster Team
    Fleet Bank House
    No 2-6 Salisbury Square
    London
    EC4Y 8JX

I suggest anyone else receiving these letters (or others connected with Seasons Holidays timeshare scams) send copies of their letters to the above address, apparently this enables them to see which areas in the country are being targetted and I'm guessing do something about it.

Since it was a freephone number I called "to authenticate" my claim and was given the whole timeshare speel and the guy got quite shirty when I mentioned that I knew it was a scam and would be reporting it to OFT, he said "go ahead"..... they are clearly well rehearsed in receiving complaints.

Oh well I guess champagne brunch at the races won't be happening then!! LOL

Have a look at these websites for details of an almost identical prize draw that is currently being advertised, please note the conditions/terms regarding annual maintenance costs...... then I guess it's up to those of you who may be interested in purchasing a timeshare anyway ......

I too put my details into my offers and got the free membership deal, and again the maintenace fee was 195 pounds for the first year then doubles thereafter. Was told that if wasn't satisfied could get refunded. 2nd year could choose weeks abroad but be an additional 20 quid admin fee, therefore 410 for 4 people (or may have been upto 8) plus flights. Think this bit is pricey, however, for the 195 this seems a good deal for 4 for a week as a good hotel would be a lot more expensive, and from the reviews I have seen of these timeshares, they are quite reasonable venues. Am out of work the end of this week and this may be an opportunity to take my family away cheaply.

So my questions are for those who HAVE taken up the deal:

    i) Is the 195 or maintenance fee all you have paid or any hidden costs?
ii) did you have to spend any time listening or being sold extra timeshare, and if so how much. Think I could tolerate a little for the price, but not a lot.
iii) if you cancelled after the offer, was it easy enough, or any problems - e.g. do you have to cancel to stop the maintenance costs automatically being taken year2?
iv) has anyone been unsatisfied and got the maintenace fee refunded
    v) anyone had any probelms getting their choice of venue at the time, and if so the chap told me could get the 195 refunded or carried over to the following year?

    Thanks
  • I`ve received notice today that I`ve won a prize worth £3,750 from Seasons. Upon phoning the free phone number 0800 448 448 I was told that it was a life membership (didn`t specify of what) and that I`d need to pay a reduced annual service charge of £260 (again not specified what for). For that I would get a weeks accomodation for 4 at a choice of places in Europe and the UK. I clarified that I would need to pay £260 for a weeks accommodation. There wa no mention of timeshare or of needing to attend any presentations. I was told I`d shortly receive an email linking to their website for more details. I am approaching this offer with caution, anyone else got any more information on this offer and the company?
  • Are all your competitions like this and cost you to buy the prize you've won
  • Just returned from Seasons resort in Portugal. Went not knowing it was a time share and I am bowled over by the quality. We are looking at signing to seasons to take advantage of other weeks. Flights £1.85 each way plus taxes, accommodation £50 per person, excellent food available locally. Great value.
How they promote is up to them, I have a mind and will not be talked into something that is silly. But with the quality ob offer seems good value to me.
