Where to stay for Xmas?

Can anyone suggest a place we can get the magic of christmas at Lapland but with out the £1,000 a head price tag? We have two kids under 4 and are happy to stay in the UK. Just want to get away from all the family and let the kids have a great time??

What about Center Parcs, we have been the last few yrs the week leading up to xmas and it's lovely. We go to the Penrith one but there are others.

Alton Towers and Splash Landings Hotel do a winter package deals. We went early in the new year and they had a kids discos and games at night as well as a mini tyre snow ski slope, a carousel and a kids snow golf course equivalent.

you can do a week in lapland for the christmas week for just over 2k and if you keep an eye on lastminute.com you may find they have last min deals to lapland for christmas week, they have some deals up now but not for christmas week (yet)0
