In the middle of the roundabout at the bottom of whiteabbey station road. Any one know what it's meant to be?
Are the moving arrows at the top moving in any particular fashion?

Ah I have been wondering what that is, I live beside it and everyone is asking what it is meant to be. Have you seen the one of Wallace & Gromit at the Hillhead rd roundabout? Thats a good one!Norn Iron club member - 2650 -

Whiteabbey Roundabout, Shore RoadThe landmark scuplture at Whiteabbey roundabout.
Designed as part of an ongoing environmental improvement scheme, the sculpture aims to create a sense of place when entering Whiteabbey. The landmark sculpture represents the famous maritime heritage of Whiteabbey and is also inspired by the monks who wore white robes at the local abbey. Blue was chosen for the beacon colour as it is commonly used to signify truth and security. The wind vanes show the changing wind direction which would have been important to shipping and sailing. Designed by the Landscape designer and Sculptor Stephen Todd who was responsible for landmark sculptures in Coleraine, Manchester and York. He has also been commissioned to create a landmark in Dubai.

more money well spent, i saw them put this thing in place, couldnt help but look as they had closed a lane in each direction and it slowed traffic down to a stand still for 2 hours at rush hour.0

Take it we've lost the field of hope then, the lovely display of daffs each year to make way for this tosh. A rememberance to those who have died of cancer is a much more touching sight than a white point0
