Before I spend £30 on the Laura Mercier face powder on Saturday.......
Is it the ultimate?
Is it the dogs wotsits?
Will it make me look like Cindy Crawford:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I'm going to get the new Mineral Powder SPF 15, but I should imagine if her old ones were great, it will be much the same.
So anyone used her powders?
Anyone used her foundations?

Hi Mrs E
I've got it. I don't wear make up everyday normally but if I have to I use the powder it just gives a bit of lift to your face. However, whatever you do don't buy the brush, which is another £30's, it's blooming useless and you end up with more hair stuck to your face than the brush. Before you say it, yes, I did get conned it to that one!!!!!! Fell for the bright lights in Selfridges :-) Also, put a little on your brush and build up colour, otherwise you can look like you've been tango'd. I bought it after This Morning rated it really highly on one of their shows.
Hope this helps

What colour is yours then?
I looked on the website & they have one called soft porceline that looks like translucent.
Thanks for the brush tip, I can be a bit gullible with magic promises too........0 -

I just be a mo. I'll go and venture into the abyss I call my make up bag and take a look.

Hi MrsE
Found it and the colour is Rich Vanilla with spf15. My skin type is the sort that goes red in the sun but then quickly tans, so I'm not really pale but I'm not quite olive. If that makes sense.

Found it
http://www.lauramercier.com/products/flawless_face/products/foundation/mineral_powder_spf_15/
Thats the exact one I want to get, but I think I should get either the Soft Porcelain or the real sand.
Do you not use foundation under it?0 -
I looked again at it & realised its more a mineral foundation powder than a mineral powder, as in IT IS THE FOUNDATION.
But its not 100% clear from their web site, it says
Apply as a buildable foundation or a pigmented powder
So I've emailed them to clarfiy, is it a mineral foundation powder or a mineral powder or both, will let you know reply.0 -
If I'm going out with the girls then I'll use clarins Super restorative tinted cream spf20 in sand, and give a light powder of Laura Mercier, and of course YSL touche eclat over the bags:rotfl: When i first bought the powder they gave me a sample of the foundation primer which if you use after moisturiser, before powder, and it worked marvellously as a base for the powder. There are other foundation primers on the market so I couldn't make any comparisons, plus Laura Mercier's primer is slightly pricey!! Another tip with the powder to make it last longer - open up lid, you will find two plastic covers, one on top has half covered lid and the one under has holes on one side, gently twist round so holes are exposed and gently tip into lid. Then cover up holes and place bottom container onto lid, not lid to container you will end up with the most expensive mess on your carpet. Always remember to open with the lid facing downwards. This will allow you to control how much is placed on the brush. Then just keep topping up the lid with powder when you need to.
