Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
  • I was thinking that, I thought it sounded lovely, just the same as any other expensive wedding, but without the guilt afterwards for spending so much. Just because it was on a budget doesn't mean it was awful!
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

We had a small wedding - didn't have invitations - everyone was phoned a month before the event! A relative was a professional photographer, my mum made the cake, another relative drove their car. OH hired a suit and my dress was 320 pounds and I had shoes and a tiara. A neighbour did my makeup and my friend paid for my hair. I didn't have wedding flowers - just used a normal bouquet.

I'd not do anything differently though! Depends when you're getting married and what is important to you. There are some great ideas on here - tent in a field, church hall and getting everyone to bring a dish. We didn't have entertainment as our family is reasonably old and wouldn't have been dancing around at all. Think about what you want, and what skills your relatives / friends have that you could use.

If you have an afternoon wedding you could book into a department store for a free makeover on the morning of your wedding - telling them it's your wedding today......
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
