If you can remember to cancel it, you can get a free 30 day trial with Experian Credit Expert which gives you online access to your credit report. If not, then I think a one off report costs about £2.

  • There is a standard £2 charge no matter who you go to

    https://www.equifax.co.uk
    https://www.experian.co.uk
    https://www.callcredit.co.uk

This is charge for asking them to send you a paper copy by post. You can fill in the form online, but the £2 only applies for the postal version

On each of those websites you can pay more (about £8) to have an "instant" online version of your credit report. Ignore this if you want the cheapest option - which is £2

  • From reported experiences on the Credit Card board - of those lenders who only use one credit ref agency more tend to use Experian than Equifax. Experian give a faster response too. The callcredit one hasn't been mentioned AFAIK ;D

Yes, it's still fairly new. Only started in 2001 (joint venture between Skipton Building Society and Dun & Bradstreet).

Problem is ... over time .. the more credit you have, the more likely that your report is spread across all three. You can't be sure that you get the complete picture from just one report. Though I agree, that Experian is likely to have most of the complete picture, as they are most commonly used.
