Pub with a garden for kids ?

Hi, I'm just back from the south of England and enjoyed a few pints in some of the great pub gardens they have over there. I tried to think of any pubs that have gardens over here within driving distance of Belfast. Can't think of any. Does anyone know of any pubs that have gardens that let kids have a bit of play about (might even have a swing or playhouse etc) while the parents relax over a drink. If they served food aswell that would be even better. Thanks in advance.

Take them to a beach or forest park! Better place for kids.0

I Agree with BigAl;)
There is not a culture of garden pubs here, a contributing factor being the weather I suppose:rolleyes: Having said that they are very good in the South of England (off there myself next week:T ) we find them handy for lunches and a drink for my OH and Aunt, I don't as I drive.
Have a barbe in the back garden, let the kids play in the safe environment of their own backyard, and get a few tinnies from the off license;) Have a few friends around, Works out a lot cheaper anyway, which is more MSE;)I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -

BigAl, The kids were up the top of Redburn yesterday and in Belvoir the day before and will probably be at Stormont later today. They are not starved of forest walks / wildlife activity. We had a picnic on the river bank whilst fishing last Monday aswell. I may only go the pub once a month if that. Its just they enjoyed it on holidays and asked if there were similar in Belfast. I just could not think of any. The question was as much out of curiousity than my desire to consume ! Rgds, Willyk0

to be fair to willyk I see where he's coming from generally if we're on a day out and looking for food we'll try a hotel or pub because theres more chance of getting decent food rather than the normal burger/chicken/fish fingers and chips for the kids - we'd normally try and find a carvery so our DS could have a proper dinner - and if said place had an outdoor play area for kids it would be brilliant to occupy him instead of keeping him away from knives, "counting" then spreading the sugar sachets all over the table lol!!
I've had experience of them in England too they would be a good idea but I fear any advantage would be negated by the fact smokers use the outside as a smoking area now, possible bad language issues and of course the blinkin weather!Norn Iron Club Member #64

Not exactly what you're after but the Jamica Inn in Bangor is on the Ballyhome seafront opposite a kids playground, serves food & drink.0
