Question about Boots 3 for 2 offer

I have bought 3 presents from Boots and got one free. But I need to take back the most expensive present as I've found out it's not the right thing. Can I do this or do I need to return the free present too? Has anyone done this?

I needed to do a similar thing recently as my daughter got 2 of the same presents for her birthday. I took the doll back to Boots without a receipt and they said I could exchange it for something else. I then went to choose 3 more things from their 3 for 2 range and then had the price of the doll credited back - I only paid about 6p!
Good luck

If you take it back without a receipt you should be fine, I have had to do this before and they've always been great.Auntie Savingsgirl 24/9/06 :j0

I took one back with a receipt and they said to me that I should really bring all three items back and then change them over. This would of course be really complicated. I had spent ages choosing something else and so mamaged to talk them round to letting me pay the £1 difference.0

I did this with the toni&guy hair products - bought 2 brunette and 1 blonde by mistake. The assistant was adamant that I brought all back and I only wanted to exchange the blond for brunette.!0

your lucky you got vouchers as far as im aware a new policy came in september that you can only exchange goods on the day without receipt!!
the only time ive had a gift card from them was when i bought something back i paid £1.99 plus a £10 electrical voucher they had on offer a while back...the cashier tried to fob me off with £1.99 refund so i insisted she confirm with head office and they said to put the full amount on a gift card.0
