Where can i find free information about these auctions? Either online auctions or ones to attend in person.
Are they any good?

Hi Chooka,
To be honest there are not many sites around, try: www.bumblebeeauctions.co.uk - these are Police property disposal auctions.
The MOD also have an auction site: http://www.edisposals.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Disposals-Public-Site/-/-/-/Default-Start
These are all I know of to be honest I don't think there is much available online, they all tend to be done at local auction houses, why not contact your local police force or auction house for more information as they normally have lists available too.
Most sites that you find on the internet will just try and sell you a list of 'police auction sites' but I don't know how reliable these lists are?
Hope this helps!0
