Chelsea football club is simply about laundering stolen Russian state money. While managing a state oil company he sold off oil at a huge discount to another private company he owned and then sold that at full price making Billions in profit. The prophet is then laundered through the football club and other property.Illegitimi non carborundum.0

I think they chose Ashford because they thought property prices would soar there when Eurostar said Ashford would be a major link to Europe. But according to wiki, Ebbsfleet stole the glory:-
"In November 2007 direct services to Brussels were withdrawn and the frequency of trains to Paris was reduced to three per day when Ebbsfleet International railway station opened. Local firms, residents and politicians were amongst those seeking a less drastic change in the Eurostar timetable."

Folkestone was also rumoured to be having a Eurostar link too, so perhaps that is why the Wilsons bought so many at Hawkinge? I'm not sure why they would have chosen to buy out in Hawkinge though, as it is a car ride or bus ride to Folkestone. Folkestone didn't get a Eurostar rail link to Europe either.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Ambramovich, whilst living in Russia work with a chap called Boris Berezovsky (a name you may recognise connected with the recent spy death case). Boris was Ambramovich's mentor for want of a better description. Nice chap...see here :- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Berezovsky
Ambramovich/Beresovsky took advantage fo the average Russian's inability to grasp capitalism. As the state oil businesses were privatised, the "shares" owned by the ordinary members of the Russian public were then available for sale on the free market.
Of course the average Russian when faced with a piece of paper saying they owned a tiny slice of a previously state run oil business or having a $10 note waved at them instead, took the ten bucks.....
They literally went door to door, buying up as much stock as possible sometimes for as little as 100th of it's true value until they owned enough to have a controlling amount of the company...which they then sold for hundreds of millions of dollars in profit. see here for sketchy details:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sibneft
They did nothing illegal, it may be considered immoral, but then most Billionaires fortunes can often be traced back to immoral/unethical practices can't it......it's very difficult to make that much money morally and legally after all........0 -

However, he funds all of Chelsea's wages...there's a little income tax there.....
Oh and every time He buys something here it had VAT on it..there's a few more million....it's why they are enticed here..to spend their money by giving them tax breaks...look at the bigger picture and we're better off doing it this way and having them spend here than not having them at all.....0 -

I wonder where their boredom threshold is? Personally I would be happy (very happy) with say ten, or at a push maybe fifty houses - but to just carry on and on seems a bit mindless. "What shall we do today dear?"
"Buy some houses."
"Great idea - I'll get me coat."
Exactly!
How pointless. If I had 10 with no mortgages, I want to spend time having fun, learning and putting time inot charity work. These poeple are shallow robots, ever hungry for more and more status and adulation. Not a good life.0 -

Couldn't agree more.
I wonder if it's an addiction or something? Doesn't seem normal, does it, just spending all that time accruing houses for the sake of it.0 -

Or international investigative journalism:beer:Mr Abramovich's fortune comes from the privatised oil company Sibneft and interests in aluminium. He sold his aluminium shares to Oleg Deripaska for a reported $1.8 billion in 2003 and returned Sibneft to the Kremlin for £7.4 billion in 2005.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article4272531.eceIn 1995 Roman Abramovich, together with Boris Berezovsky, acquired the controlling interest in the large oil company Sibneft. The deal was within the controversial loans-for-shares program and partner paid $100m for half of the company, only slightly below the stake's stock market value of $150 million at the time. The fast-rising value of the company led many observers, in hindsight, to suggest that the real cost of the company should have been in the billions of dollars.
Most notably, the company sold its stake in Sibneft to state energy giant Gazprom for $13 billion.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Abramovich
So to conclude he privatized Sibneft selling off cheap to himself and partners well below its value and then sold it on to the Russian government at a price hugely inflated from what he bought it at.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

I guess it's all about ambition and ego. Some people are happy to work all their lives as a bank clerk and some want to be the bank manager, others want to be regional manager and a few want to be the CEO. We all find our natural level and then are happy there.
I think I'd be the same as Conrad, my home paid off and 10 mortgage-less rental properties bringing in a nice little income would be my natural level.Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)
