I borrowed a sum of money to a friend/employee. I did this in writing and got it signed and witnessed. I have now heard the person is thinking of leaving.
Where do I stand legally?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Have you actually just asked your friend about their intentions wrt the money?0
-
No i have not asked yet - i am hearing things on the grape vine so to say. He is saying thinks like he will not pay back basically.0

If he's really a friend, my first port of call would be to try taking to him. Beyond that, was the contract for the loan drawn up professionally, or between yourselves? Has he kept to the terms so far?0

Drawn up between ourselves. The loan was for 1 year which is due to end next few months0
