Hi there  We have a recent thread on Old Style for students, where Pink-winged has linked to several really useful threads. I'll merge this thread to that one to keep ideas together
Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Pen Pen, just tried these out, as I was looking for some info - 2 of the links go to an invalid thread message (maybe they've been merged?) -
Your fully comprehensive storecupboard
Storecupboard list - might be useful
All the others work fine... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Thanks, I'll mention this to Pink once she's back on line so that she can edit her post. We'll remove the off topic posts later

Bring value spaghetti or pasta to the boil for a couple of minutes. Put tight fitting lid on saucepan & switch off gas/electric. It will carry on cooking, usually done in 3\4 or less of an hour.
I like it fried up with onions & a smidgen of chilli. Bit like singapore noodles. You could even fry very thin slices of meat or veg with it.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -

Don't know what I am doing wrong, but a lot of the links on this thread don't seem to be valid.
Hi Janey,
I don't know why a lot of the links aren't working for you.Like rosieben I've checked them all and only two out of the fifteen are going to the invalid page for me. I had a look and they have been merged into this thread: Storecupboard Essentials since I posted them. I've fixed the links in the first post.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, there are lots of great suggestions here. My house mates and I do share the cost of bread, margarine, condiments, herbs, stock cubes and loo roll which helps. Also don't need to worry about gas/ electric bills as the landlord covers those which has saved me a fortune.0

Thanks for the update everybody. I am on my son's computer now and have had more success so I guess it might be a glitch with my laptop.
I will try again when I get home later.0
