Here are some of my feeble suggestions on how you could cut down your spending:
Gas and electric - £45 - Cut down on this by putting on a jumper instead of turning on the heating. If your both out at work all day you should be able to reduce it quite easily.
Water - £17 - Cut down on this by going on a water meter. Then take showers instead of baths, measure out water for the kettle and only flush the loo every other time you go.
Life Insurance - £17 - Cancel this and get a payment of what you have paid so far. Use that to pay off some debt and when all your debts have paid off start it up again.
Two mobile phones - £30 - Do you need them or do you need 2? Remember only 11 years ago no one had a Mobile Phone and we all seemed to be able to get by without one. So why is it always so vital that everyone has one now?
I managed to get out of my debt with an income of only £600 per month. Why is it always the ones who earn more money that get into more debt? Isn't what you get enough for you?2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

As we are now on the moral high ground saturn, I will bore you with the background.
I appreciate your point of view, but thanks for pigeon holing me when you don't really have a clue.
Well done on getting out of debt, but sometimes there are circumstances behind things..............
I was earning 30k per year, she was earning 18k.
I was made redundant and she was made redundant 2 months later while 5 months pregnant.
Our outgoings were easily management with that level of income.
I had to take a job on 12k just to save the house, as you can imagine, not many people want to take on a pregnant woman.
So from 48k to 12k in a very short space of time, things had to be refinanced, money had to be borrowed and now we are working our way out of it.
It would have been very easy to point the finger, declare ourselves and bankrupt, but we have worked bloody hard to turn our lives around.
I have a brilliant family, and a happy life.
Yes, I am in debt, but I am dealing with it, working through and will come out the other side.0 -
Well done! Keep posting - we do take the moral high ground (erroneously) sometimes but basically we're nice people! Sometimes it's good to head us off at the pass and give us the background upfront. IT can also help with how people advise you. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

fairy nuff.
I just got a little riled.
Some of the financial problems are of my own doing, but the majority are down to circumstance and I will work my way out of them, I was just looking for advice on cutting back further (if its possible) and possible alternatives as to the way forward.0 -
Is there anything else we can help with?:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

It IS possible though looking at your incomings/outgoings. What are you hoping to achieve? Do you want to build up some savings? Etc Etc. You need to decide what you want and then take it from there, there's definately room for improvement in your current expenditure though (especially the food).
Good luck & come back if you need any more help.
