First off have you gone into the control panel sound settings to make sure they are up full?
If thats up full then try then I don't think another player will make any difference because I think the volume is down to the sound card so you may be better routing the sound through a stereo/surround sound and using the headphones from that.Always looking for a bargain and to help0
