Humax all the way
I've got an 8000 & it's a fantastic piece of kit & very simple to use. Automatic updates over the Freeview channels makes sure you always have the latest firmware installed too.EGG are a bunch of complete bankers!0 -
I also have the 800y never gone wrong in a year neither has the fox-t in 20 months. Thats why I always go for Humax reliability and quality.0

The Topfeild5800 this is about £70 more than the Humax 9200.
I have a couple of Humax's both very good. The build quality is excellent.
The Topfield allows you to add other software to the unit.
For the price the Humax 9200 is hard to beat, not many place have the unit in stock 24x7shop are the cheapest £208 inc vat and delivery. None in stock.
Dabs have the unit they call it a DabsValue PVR but it is a Humax 9200 around £214 + P&P stock due...
If anyone know where I could get the 9200 for £200ish all in I'd love to know as my Dad has just given SKY the boot and wants a PVR like the 9200 or the Topfield 5800 ASAP.
FYI Both the Topfield 5800 and the Humax 9200 HAVE PROBLEMS as they are quite new. Updates to the firmware should address these issue. For example the USB connection on the Humax writes some bad data on file sent to the PC (software bug) and reports show that 5m USB cables do not work well on some units but 1m and 2m cables are OK.Seth.0 -
I've just been to Tesco (Stockport) where they are selling the Bush IDPVR801B for about £100. This is a really good price as far as I can see, but I'm not sure whether to get it or not, as while the price is good, I've got an NTL box, and I want to know whether it'll record from the Co-ax in. The girl at the shop said yes, but from my previous experience, I doubt it will!
Has anyone else come across this box before? Does anyone know whether it's worth investing in?

I have a fab TV with twin integrated digital channels and a 40GB HDD
I can`t wait to tell sky where to go. I just have to wait through the rest of my contract time.
The TV is HUMAX and there are different sizes. I have LGB 26 TPVR
This is the cheapest I could find. I have had a few things from the company and they are friendly, reliable and fast

Whoohooooo!!! My Humax 9200T turned up today - this is after the saga of all sagas in the name of trying to get the Inverto one which nobody ever seemed able to get in stock.
Got it for £207.99 (inc delivery) from www.247electrical.com
Unfortunately I can't play with it until tomorrow (cos I'm out this evening so I'll have to lock it in the cupbard at work overnight!)Operation Get in Shape
